Volunteering

I wasn’t involved in scouting until someone asked me and I jumped at the chance. Adventure isn’t just for young people or those of us already wearing neckerchiefs; it’s for everyone. There’s lots of talent among our 800,000 parents. Let’s bring some of that into scouting. Just ask – that’s all it takes. Bear Grylls, Chief Scout

We really need your help to allow more young people to experience the adventure of Scouting. Whatever your skills, experience and interests, we can find a role for you!

Current urgent volunteering posts:

Assistant Beaver Leader Tues/Wed eve 6-7pm

Assistant Cub Leaders on Mon eve 6.30-8

We also have a whole range of different volunteering opportunities available, let us know what you would be interested in doing:

  • Leaders to work with young people at weekly meetings
  • Managers to lead and support teams of adults to deliver Scouting
  • Trustees to make sure property and resources are properly administered
  • Instructors to run a huge range of adventurous activities
  • Media & Communications to  promote Scouting and improve our communication
  • Administrators to make sure policies and procedures are followed correctly
  • Training Managers to co-ordinate our comprehensive adult training programme
