St George’s Day Parade 23 April 2017 at Clifton Cathedral

Our Scout Group has been invited to join the rest of Cabot District to take part in a St George’s Day parade and Scout service on Sunday 23rd April 2017.

St George is the Patron Saint of Scouting, as well as for England.  It is an integral part of the Scouting calendar each year for everyone within the movement to celebrate it in some form and for all uniformed members to renew their Scout promise.

The event will consist of our district parading from the New Pavilion Playing Fields owned by Clifton College and finishing at Clifton Cathedral where a short youth led / all age service will celebrate what it is to be part of the wider family of Scouting within our local community.

There will be no cost to attend the event, although the group will be asking for any donations (beforehand) which will be going to our Nemaste Nepal project which is working with Nepalese villagers in setting up Scouting provision within that country.  Further information on this amazing project can be found at: http://namastenepal.org.uk/

WHEN: Sunday 23rd April 2017

START:  Drop off from 1.00pm, we will parade to cathedral for Service at 2pm.

DROP OFF: New Pavilion Playing Fields (Canynege Road)

COLLECT: Pick up Clifton Cathedral from 3.45pm

Everyone will be expected to wear FULL uniform for this event please.  Contingency plans may very well be implemented if there is inclement weather just before, or on the day of the event. The district will notify us should there be any alterations to the plans.
